Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a senior quality engineer to lead the Sourced Products quality program for HVAC finished goods. You will coach partners, drive APQP, DFMEA/PPAP, and implement quality initiatives across the supplier network, ensuring performance meets commitments and customer expectations.

You will manage supplier performance, analyze warranty and field data, and collaborate with account managers, field service reps, and customers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management or related discipline.
• Professional certification (CPM, Six Sigma, CQM, CQE, CSQE, PE, etc.) preferred.
• 8–12 years of quality/quality engineering experience in a design, engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and knowledge in APQP, FMEA, PPAP.
• Strong interpersonal skills to influence suppliers and collaborate across Trane.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities; willing to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality engineering leadership to Sourced Products partners for HVAC finished goods.
• Coach and mentor partners on strategic quality initiatives from product inception through post-sales.
• Drive standard work and FPY improvements with supplier networks.
• Execute warranty claim and field quality analysis to identify top Pareto issues.
• Track supplier performance and respond to negative trends and customer concerns.
• Serve as point-of-contact for quality issues to assist account managers and field reps.
• Lead supplier process reviews and audits; implement quality initiatives with partners.
• Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning and standard work in lifecycle development.
