Saab, Inc. seeks an experienced Manager of Subcontracts to lead a team of subcontract professionals handling high-value procurements and complex programs. The role covers proposal support, subcontract development and negotiation, supplier performance, and regulatory flow-downs, including U.S.

Government and DoD/FAA requirements. Based at Saab, Inc.’s East Syracuse, NY headquarters or other U.S. offices (Bristol, RI; Orlando, FL; Quincy, MA), the role partners with multiple functions to align

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Industrial Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering-General or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of supply chain, logistics, contracts and material management experience (or 7+ years with a Master’s).
• Leadership experience over Subcontracts, Proposal, Buying and Planning teams.
• Experience with government regulations (FAR/DFAR, ITAR/EAR, TINA).
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Contract negotiation experience for large DoD subcontracts.
• Knowledge of forecast and planning tools for MRP systems.
• Advanced financial analysis capabilities.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams domestically and internationally.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for Supply Chain objectives.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Subcontracts team, assigning priorities and workloads.
• Oversee development, negotiation, execution, and administration of complex subcontracts and supplier agreements.
• Ensure subcontracting activities comply with U.S. Government requirements (FAR/DFARS, DoD, Saab policies).
• Provide subject matter expertise on subcontracting and contractual matters.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Contracts, Legal, Quality to develop sourcing strategies.
• Support strategic supply chain initiatives and continuous improvement across functions.
• Establish and maintain subcontracting policies, templates, tools, and best practices.
• Support internal/external audits and government reviews.
• Lead workforce planning, performance management, and career development for the Subcontracts team.
