Job summary

Saab, Inc. seeks an experienced Manager of Subcontracts to lead a team handling high-value procurements and government contracting requirements. You will guide negotiation, risk management, and supplier relationships across DoD and FAA programs from Saab's East Syracuse, NY HQ or other U.S.

offices. You will drive compliance, policy development, and strategic sourcing while collaborating with Engineering, Legal, and Finance to meet program objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Industrial Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering-General or related field.
• 10+ years of Supply Chain, Logistics, Contracts and Material Management experience (or 7+ years with a Master's).
• Leadership experience over Subcontracts, Proposal, Buying and Planning teams.
• Experience with government regulations (FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, TINA).
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Contract negotiation experience for large DoD subcontracts.
• Knowledge of forecast and planning tools for MRP systems.
• Advanced financial analysis capabilities.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams domestically and internationally.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Must be capable of obtaining a Secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Subcontracts team, establishing priorities and workloads.
• Oversee development, negotiation, execution, and administration of complex subcontracts.
• Ensure subcontracting activities comply with FAR/DFARS and DoD regulations.
• Provide SME on subcontracting and contractual matters, guiding risk evaluation.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Contracts, Legal, Quality.
• Support strategic supply chain initiatives and continuous improvement across functions.
• Establish and maintain subcontracting policies, templates, tools and best practices.
• Support internal and external audits and government reviews; maintain documentation.
• Lead workforce planning and talent management for the Subcontracts organization.
