Job summary

The Florida Department of Management Services—Division of State Human Resource Management—seeks a State Workforce Policy Consultant to help develop and execute statewide labor and employee relations initiatives from Tallahassee, FL.

You will support collective bargaining, grievances, ADA accommodations, performance management, and disciplinary actions, while collaborating on statewide HR policies and consultative services to agencies.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional work experience in a human resources field.
• Experience interpreting statutes, rules, policies, etc.
• Experience researching, writing, editing and coordinating reports and briefings.
• Experience analyzing data and presenting to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bargaining sessions, monitor negotiations, document positions, craft proposals and prepare legislative work products.
• Prepare documents to support management decisions on negotiation strategy and policy development.
• Provide consultative services to agencies on employee relations programs.
• Assist with drafting of new or revised rules and guidelines.
• Monitor and analyze proposed legislation to identify impacts and propose updates.
• Suggest improvements to personnel information systems for compliance and usability.
• Create data reports from personnel systems to identify discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Support team members on special projects, including research, reporting, and coordination.
