Job summary

BD is a leading global medical technology company seeking an Outside Sales representative in the USA (NJ). You will support regional and national sales teams, gain exposure to US healthcare, and learn the IDS portfolio to assist field staff.

You will protect and grow the Specimen Management portfolio, train customers, inform on pricing, and coordinate with RBM/SMC on planning. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with 1–2 years of outside sales and travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1–2 years of outside sales experience or equivalency.
• Ability to travel up to 75%.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate for and promote to available account representative positions.
• Strong persuasion and influencing skills.
• Good judgment and professional behavior.
• Basic knowledge of Laboratory, Nursing and Medical Device industry.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with hospital, sales and corporate office personnel.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history.

Responsibilities

• Support the regional sales team and national sales team as needed.
• Gain exposure to US healthcare—laboratory, nursing and physician engagement.
• Complete sales training to understand the IDS portfolio and support field associates.
• Protect and grow Specimen Management (SM) portfolio.
• Provide customers product information, data insights, clinical education and product training.
• Inform customers of pricing, backorder management and company policies.
• Execute comprehensive in-service of SM products to all concerned individuals.
• Work with field associates (SMC) and RBM on planning and prioritization of calls, travel.
• Develop thorough knowledge of related products.
• Communicate with field staff and RBM about changes in customer accounts.
• Report customer complaints per IDS policies.
• Complete all administrative duties per policy.
• Cultivate new and existing customers for long-term relationships.
• Work a flexible schedule and travel as needed to meet IDS customers’ needs.
