Job summary

Oregon Freeze Dry is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials and packaging, partnering with Operations, R&D, and Quality to support product commercialization while driving supplier performance and cost improvements.

You will consolidate suppliers, manage risk, monitor on-time delivery and quality, negotiate contracts, and collaborate to qualify new materials.

Qualifications

• Extensive sourcing expertise in supplier selection and cost optimization.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills for risk, cost, quality, and inventory metrics.
• Understanding of inventory management, manufacturing processes, and operational workflows for optimization.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office; cross-functional collaboration in dynamic environments.
• Preferred certification such as ISM CPSM or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for quality, cost, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support product commercialization with timely sourcing.
• Consolidate supplier base to leverage purchasing power and improve terms.
• Minimize supply interruptions by diversifying the supplier network using risk-based approaches.
• Monitor supplier performance using key metrics and drive improvements in service levels.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities through supplier collaboration and process improvements.
• Advise on sourcing actions based on market conditions and forecasted changes in tariffs or commodities.
• Collaborate with R&D and Quality to evaluate new materials and packaging technologies.
