Job summary

Oregon Freeze Dry, Inc. in Albany, OR is seeking a Buyer II responsible for procuring raw materials, packaging, and indirect materials to support manufacturing operations. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure reliable, cost-effective supply.

This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, creates POs in ERP, monitors inventory, forecasts demand, and supports continuous improvement while complying with food safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• Knowledge of industry best practices (ISM, APICS or equivalent).
• Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement processes.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with data-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials, packaging, and indirect materials to support production schedules.
• Create, release, and manage POs in the ERP system for timely replenishment.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and manage lead times.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, minimum orders, and other commercial terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support supplier qualification and onboarding activities.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Travel occasionally for supplier visits and training (5–10%).
