Job summary

Oregon Freeze Dry, headquartered in Albany, Oregon, seeks a seasoned sourcing professional to drive supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management. You will partner with cross-functional teams to optimize costs while ensuring regulatory compliance and quality across the supplier network.

This role emphasizes data-driven decision making, strategic supplier consolidation, and collaboration with R&D and QA to qualify new materials and packaging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Extensive sourcing expertise with proven success in supplier selection, contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to assess supply chain risk, evaluate cost, quality, and inventory metrics, and develop actionable sourcing strategies.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, manufacturing processes, and operational workflows to optimize sourcing and supply chain performance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and digital tools, with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvements in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills; professional certification such as ISM CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support company objectives for quality, cost, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support product commercialization through timely and cost-effective sourcing strategies.
  • Strategically consolidate the supplier base to leverage purchasing power and improve commercial terms.
  • Proactively minimize supply interruptions by utilizing a risk-based approach to diversifying the supplier network.
  • Monitor supplier performance using key metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness and service levels, working with suppliers to achieve improved service levels and meet company targets.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for cost reductions, process improvements, rebates and additional commercial concessions.
  • Recommend sourcing actions based on current as well as forecasted market conditions such as commodity changes and tariffs to proactively manage impact on business.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Quality to evaluate and qualify new materials and packaging technologies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities to reduce costs in the system.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, supplier meetings, and industry events to expand sourcing opportunities and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using change management tools and methodologies.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to issue resolution and dashboard reporting.
  • Engage in professional development through continuing education and industry networking (e.g., ISM, APICS).
  • Ensure compliance with SQF, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Understand long-term organizational goals and contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives that align with broader business objectives.
  • Have regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.
  • Be responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflect positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
  • Embody OFD’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department and company culture.

You Will Get To
