Job summary

University at Buffalo seeks a Buying/ Sourcing Specialist to advance strategic sourcing across the campus, leading end-to-end RFx events, spend analyses, and supplier negotiations within Jaggaer Source-to-Pay.

The role collaborates with stakeholders to translate sourcing outcomes into contracts, pricing structures, and system readiness, ensuring compliance with SUNY and university policies while supporting category strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education with 1 year of experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Basic knowledge of e-Procurement systems.
• Strong written and oral communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for assigned categories (RFx events, market research, spend analysis).
• Assist in RFx events (RFI, RFQ, RFP, IFB) in Jaggaer and coordinate supplier communications.
• Support supplier evaluation, pricing analyses, and award recommendations for review by sourcing leadership.
• Coordinate contract documentation, supplier data, pricing structures, and catalog setup in Jaggaer.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure sourcing compliance and timing.
