Job summary

MatX is seeking a strategic Sourcing Manager to manage sourcing strategy for datacenter rack development, integration, contract manufacturing strategy, and key vendor partnerships across critical hardware modules.

You will lead global sourcing, negotiate multi-million dollar contracts, drive SRM programs, work with Hardware Engineering and Legal, and push total cost of ownership reductions to support rapid hardware iteration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of strategic sourcing, global supply management, or procurement in high-tech hardware industries.
• Proven track record negotiating multi-million dollar contracts and securing favorable terms with tier-1 suppliers.
• Strong technical aptitude to converse with hardware architects and engineering leads.
• Deep familiarity with supply chain dynamics, risk management, and vendor cost structure analysis.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and strategic leadership capabilities.
• Comfortable owning end-to-end category ownership in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global strategic sourcing strategies for rack and key hardware component categories.
• Lead commercial negotiations, supplier selections, RFXs, and pricing agreements to ensure best cost, quality, and supply security.
• Manage supplier relationship management (SRM) programs, conducting executive business reviews (EBRs) and supplier scorecards.
• Partner with Hardware Engineering to assess market capabilities, influence design for total cost of ownership, and mitigate single-source risks.
• Collaborate with Legal and Contract Management to draft, finalize and execute commercial and engineering contracts.
• Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction initiatives while supporting rapid hardware iteration schedules.
