Job summary

MatX is building next-generation AI compute infrastructure and seeks a hands-on NPI Manufacturing Engineer to lead chip, compute tray, and rack-scale manufacturing. You’ll own process development, factory readiness, and ramp, collaborating with hardware, software, and supply chain teams to scale production.

You will drive SMT process development, manage tooling and tests, and oversee SPC and continuous improvement to reduce scrap and cycle time across high-volume assemblies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of NPI or manufacturing engineering experience in electronics hardware.
• Hands-on SMT process development, including stencil design, solder paste, reflow, placement, SPI/AOI/X-ray inspection.
• Experience with complex PCB, compute tray, and rack-level assemblies from DFM/DFT perspective.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing NPI from EVT through PVT and drive readiness at each stage gate.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process flows, procedures, travelers, and documentation.
• Lead SMT process development and qualification for complex PCB and rack-level assemblies.
• Define production tooling, fixtures, and test fixtures; develop production test processes.
