Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Manager, Safety Compliance in Irving, TX to lead the development and management of occupational health and safety policies and programs. You will supervise the contractor management system team, support customer safety inquiries, and drive safety strategy across the department.

The role requires a Bachelor degree, 5–10 years of safety experience, and strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in occupational safety and health.
• CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH is preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and Provincial safety regulations including OSHA, FAA, OHSA, EPA, MSHA and ANSI/NFPA/NEC standards.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, loss control and incident prevention methods.
• Strong teamwork, prioritization, and time management with urgency.
• Proficiency in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Up to 20% travel expected.

Responsibilities

• Generate responses to customer safety inquiries including pre-qualification packages, safety audits and variances.
• Review safety-related sections of legal documents to support customer contract reviews.
• Lead safety strategy projects, training development and other department needs.
• Develop, maintain and manage occupational safety and health policies and procedures.
• Provide oversight of the contractor management systems (ISN, Avetta) and reporting.
• Monitor field injury reporting and distribute field communications.
• Lead and manage the safety team, set goals and conduct performance reviews.
• Address OSHA and MSHA citations and coordinate responses.
