Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Risk Advisor to provide audit and advisory services focusing on financial, strategic, and entity-level risks across the organization and its subsidiaries. You will partner with management to design, implement, and monitor internal controls, reporting to the Financial Audit & MAR Manager.

Responsibilities include leading walkthroughs, testing, developing mitigation plans, and delivering high-quality audit reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications CPA or CIA highly preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience in auditing, risk management, or internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist Audit Manager in audit/advisory engagements including acquisitions and corporate synergies.
• Use COSO framework to design and monitor entity-level controls across subsidiaries.
• Analyze processes to identify risks, gaps, and mitigation strategies; provide management with recommendations.
• Document processes, risks, controls, and testing per department framework.
• Provide training and consulting on risk identification and mitigation.
• Perform ad-hoc audits, identify exceptions, and report findings.
• Lead walkthroughs, testing, and advisory/audit planning with independence.
