Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Risk Advisor to provide audit and advisory services across non-insurance operating assets. The role focuses on financial, strategic, and entity-level risks, partnering with management to strengthen internal controls and governance across subsidiaries.

The position reports to the Financial Audit & MAR Manager and involves leading walkthroughs, testing, and developing advisory/audit plans while delivering high-quality reports to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.
• Blue Cross NC will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist Audit Manager in performing audit and advisory engagements.
• Use COSO framework to design, implement, and monitor entity-level controls.
• Analyze processes to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Document processes, risks, controls, and testing procedures.
• Provide training and consulting on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Perform ad-hoc audits, identify deviations, and report findings.
• Lead walkthroughs, perform testing, and develop audit plans.
• Produce high-quality audit reports and communicate findings effectively.
