Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Risk Advisor to provide audit and advisory services across non-insurance operating assets, focusing on financial, strategic, and entity-level risks and controls. You will partner with management to strengthen internal controls and operationalize processes across subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Financial Audit & MAR Manager, you will lead walkthroughs, perform testing, and deliver high-quality audit reports while advising on risk mitigation and governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of experience in auditing, risk management, internal controls, or consulting.
• CPA or CIA certifications highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Audit Manager in performing audit and advisory engagements related to key organizational initiatives.
• Utilize COSO framework to design, implement, and monitor entity-level controls across subsidiaries.
• Analyze processes to identify risks, gaps, and mitigation strategies; provide management recommendations.
• Document processes, risks, controls, and testing procedures per department framework.
• Provide training and consulting on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Perform ad-hoc audits, report findings, and validate remediation actions.
• Lead walkthroughs, develop advisory/audit plans, and balance risk with efficiency.
