Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina seeks a Senior Risk Advisor to provide audit and advisory services for non-insurance operating assets. You will partner with management to strengthen processes and internal controls across subsidiaries and monitor effectiveness.

Reporting to the Financial Audit & MAR Manager, you will design enterprise-wide control activities and communicate findings clearly. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of related experience, a Bachelor's or higher degree, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.
• CPA or CIA certifications are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Audit Manager in performing audit and advisory engagements related to key organizational initiatives.
• Utilize COSO to design, implement and monitor entity-level controls across subsidiaries.
• Analyze processes to identify risks, gaps, mitigation strategies and governance improvements.
• Document processes, risks, controls and testing procedures per framework.
• Provide guidance and training to management on risk identification and mitigation.
• Lead ad-hoc audits, report findings and develop corrective action plans.
• Conduct control deficiency assessments and validate remediation actions.
• Proactively identify and communicate risks to leadership.
