Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions seeks a Manager of Risk Management and Insurance Programs to oversee CGS’s risk, insurance, claims, and surety efforts. The role leads a team, works with senior leadership, and ensures regulatory and contractual compliance across domestic and international programs.

The position partners with Safety, HR, Legal, Contracts, Finance, and Operations to assess exposures, implement loss-control strategies, and maintain insurance coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or risk management and seven years of professional level experience in risk management or commercial insurance.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite and RMIS software at an intermediate level.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day administration of CGS’s enterprise risk, commercial insurance, claims, and surety programs.
• Supervise risk management personnel and provide technical guidance to senior leadership.
• Identify and evaluate organizational exposures; develop mitigation strategies and loss-prevention plans.
• Review contracts to identify insurance, indemnification, bonding, and risk-transfer requirements; coordinate with Legal/Contracts teams.
• Manage domestic and international insurance programs, including policy placement, renewals, endorsements, and certificates.
• Liaise with brokers, insurers, third-party administrators, and surety providers to support coverage negotiations and claims resolution.
• Monitor claims across workers’ compensation, property, general liability, and employment practices; report on trends and costs.
• Collaborate with Safety, HR, Legal, Contracts, Finance, and Operations to implement loss-control and post-incident actions.
