Job summary

M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY seeks an experienced risk management professional to implement first line of defense initiatives within the business unit and lead complex risk projects. You will act as SME for risk execution and drive documentation, testing, and remediation efforts.

You will coordinate risk-based testing, perform control testing, monitor KRIs, complete RCSAs, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements while supporting remediation planning and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, or a combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years’ relevant work experience
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in risk identification, risk mitigation, risk and control self-assessment
• Experience understanding Corporate Services / Community Markets risks is helpful

Responsibilities

• Execute risk initiatives led by this position or team and document key business processes
• Plan, execute and report the risk-based testing program; perform control testing per First Line of Defense Guidance
• Review testing results and communicate findings to management
• Monitor KRIs and recommend improvements to risk controls
• Complete Risk Control Self Assessments and risk reporting; aid in remediation and escalation of risk events
• Develop and oversee adherence to policies and procedures; respond to internal/external requests related to processes

Education
