Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a seasoned Risk Manager to implement first line defenses and lead risk initiatives within the business unit in Buffalo, NY. You will act as SME and project lead on complex risk projects, coordinating with risk and control functions across the organization.

Responsibilities include executing risk-based testing, documenting processes, and guiding remediation plans. Strong collaboration with Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least 5 years of risk management experience.
• Experience with risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) and testing programs.
• Familiarity with compliance and operational risks in corporate services is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk initiatives and document key business processes.
• Identify and assess risks and internal controls under your leadership.
• Plan and execute risk-based testing programs; perform control testing.
• Maintain Archer data, monitor KRIs, and report findings to management.
• Develop remediation plans and track their completion.
