Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with related experience.
• 8+ years of directly related work experience for Senior Manager or 6+ years for Associate Director/Director.
• 3 years of NSPM-33 compliant research security program experience.
• 7-10 years export control compliance experience at an academic institution or research organization.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance Oversight: interpret and apply export laws and monitor regulatory changes.
• Technology and Research Review: assess sponsored proposals for export control issues and licensing needs.
• Restricted Party Screening: conduct screenings of collaborators and foreign entities.
• International Travel and Shipping Oversight: ensure compliance for travel and shipments of controlled items.
• Licensing and Agreements: prepare export licenses, CJ/CCATS requests, and TCPs.
• Education and Outreach: deliver training and create guidance documents.
• Foreign Influence and Research Security: address risks from foreign collaborations.
• Recordkeeping and Audits: maintain documentation and assist in audits and inquiries.
• Collaboration and Policy Development: work with Sponsored Projects, General Counsel, TTO, EHS, Intl Affairs.
• Legal and Ethical Risk Assessment: provide legal analysis to support compliance decisions.
