Job summary

Attain Partners is seeking a Research Security Officer to lead export controls and research security programs for university clients. The role requires expertise in ITAR, EAR, and OFAC, with collaboration across departments to ensure compliance and policy adherence.

The position focuses on implementing compliance measures, licensing, training, and liaison activities, while supporting ongoing regulatory changes and informing stakeholders throughout the institution.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of ITAR, EAR, OFAC regulations.
• Proven experience in developing research compliance programs, global trade compliance, and/or research operations.
• Knowledge of export controls and related policies.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across institutions.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a culture of compliance and oversees adherence to federal regulations and policies related to research security and export controls.
• Executes compliance program activities, including risk assessments and work plans, coordinating with other offices.
• Serves as the institution's research security point of contact and responds to information requests from external parties.
• Manages export control determinations and licenses, serving as empowered official for ITAR.
• Develops and updates policies and procedures to support export control compliance.
• Builds relationships across departments to promote ethics and compliance.
