Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Contracts Manager to independently draft, review, and negotiate sponsored research contracts and related agreements.

You will collaborate with researchers, physicians, and sponsors to advance partnerships while protecting the Hospital’s interests. The role requires a Master's in Law and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with strong negotiation, regulatory compliance (HIPAA/Uniform Guidance), and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience drafting and negotiating clinical research, data use, material transfer, subawards, and other research agreements in a hospital or academic setting.
• Ability to review, negotiate, and manage agreements to ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and institutional requirements, including HIPAA, Uniform Guidance, hospital cost principles, and organizational policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and external sponsors.
• Demonstrated negotiation and organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well independently and with others.
• Proficient with standard office software applications (MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and negotiations simultaneously.
• Ability to take initiative to develop strategic solutions to complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate sponsored research contracts and related agreements.
• Identify and resolve contractual issues and potential risks.
• Oversee resolution of contractual problems with faculty, staff, sponsors, and offices.
• Coordinate contract execution through internal setup procedures with partner offices.
• Other duties as assigned.
