Job summary

Modivcare seeks an experienced Government Affairs Director to drive our state-level strategy across the Central and Southeast region, engaging Medicaid directors, regulatory agencies, and legislative leaders. You will steer advocacy, manage contract lobbyists, and coordinate with Sales, Operations, Product, Legal, and Compliance to safeguard and advance the company’s interests.

Qualifications

• Experience serving as a primary external representative before policymakers and regulators.
• Experience coordinating or managing contract lobbyists and external stakeholders.
• Experience in healthcare policy areas such as Medicaid, Medicare, transportation policy, or human services.
• Strong strategic communication and writing skills for testimonies and briefing materials.
• Ability to travel regularly (up to 60% or as required).

Responsibilities

• Lead state-level government affairs strategy across Central and Southeast regions.
• Engage with Medicaid agencies, governors' offices, and legislative bodies.
• Manage contract lobbyists and coordinate with cross-functional teams to protect market position.
• Monitor policy developments and advise senior leadership on risks and opportunities.
• Prepare testimony, letters, briefs, and talking points for hearings and contact with stakeholders.
• Develop and implement state-level advocacy plans aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Represent the company in state committees, advisory groups, and trade associations.
