Job summary

Modivcare seeks an experienced Government Affairs Director to lead Northeast state policy efforts, including Medicaid and transportation programs. You will be the senior in-state representative before legislatures, governors’ offices, and agencies, shaping advocacy strategies and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires deep policy expertise, a track record in public affairs, and willingness to travel within assigned states; a Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in state government affairs, public policy, or public affairs.
• Experience as a primary external representative before policymakers.
• Experience coordinating contract lobbyists and external partners.
• Healthcare/Medicaid/transportation policy experience preferred.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead state-level advocacy and regulatory engagement across the Northeast.
• Manage relationships with legislative leaders, agencies, and regulators.
• Oversee contract lobbyists and external stakeholders for policy objectives.
• Monitor policy developments and advise senior leadership on risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Ops, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Marketing.
• Develop and implement state-level advocacy strategies aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Prepare testimony, letters, and talking points for hearings and meetings.
• Travel within assigned states to maintain direct engagement with policymakers.
