Job summary

Modivcare is seeking an experienced Government Affairs Director to lead and execute our state government affairs strategy across multiple states. You will serve as the company’s senior in-state representative before legislatures, governors’ offices, Medicaid agencies, and executive branches, coordinating with cross-functional teams to protect and advance the company’s market position.

The role requires 10+ years of relevant experience, strong policy and lobbying acumen, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in state government affairs or public policy.
• Experience engaging with state legislatures, governors’ offices, or executive agencies.
• Experience managing contract lobbyists.
• Healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, or transportation policy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead state-level legislative and regulatory advocacy.
• Represent the company before state capitols and executive branches.
• Manage relationships with legislative leaders, staff, and regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate with Sales, Business Development, Operations, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Marketing.
• Monitor policy developments and communicate risks and opportunities.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
