Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee accounting for a diverse real estate portfolio, private investments, and family office entities in a boutique, fast-paced setting.

The role requires 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including real estate and family office exposure, with CPA/CFA preferred. You’ll manage multi-tiered entity structures, complex intercompany transactions, and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3–5 years in real estate accounting and family office management
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CFA highly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of specialized real estate and family office software; elite Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting for multiple entities including AP, AR, payroll and GL
• Lead month-, quarter-, and year-end closing with accurate financial statements
• Manage intercompany transactions, fund flows and capital account reconciliations
• Implement and monitor internal controls and accounting policies
• Oversee property-level accounting for real estate portfolio (residential/commercial/development)
• Coordinate with JV partners and third-party managers on reporting
• Provide comprehensive financial reporting for family members and wealth management
