Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Coordinator for the Quotations Department to support cost estimation, quoting, pricing, and technical information across product lines. You will conduct extensive research and analyze manufacturing options to generate quotations that yield profit and secure repeat business from customers.

In this role, you will prepare quotations, consult with factories, and review bills of material while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience required.
• 2+ years of experience preferred in sales, negotiations, pricing, and building relationships.
• Knowledge of SAP programs used to support the Quotations process.
• Knowledge of logistics strategies.
• Mathematical skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Negotiation skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates of materials for internal and external customers; compile bills of material and identify tools, fixtures, or equipment to be purchased.
• Consult with factories to obtain best-cost information; compute cost estimates; audit manufacturers’ bills of materials.
• Conduct extensive research prior to submitting quotations based on customer requirements and specs.
• Analyze competitors’ products and services to identify opportunities to improve market position.
• Prepare and submit technical quotations under tight deadlines.
• Support change orders and job lot billing in some branches.
• Provide quotes to sales staff and track take-offs required by the sales team.
• Assist promotional opportunities and maintain knowledge through training and networking.
