Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Coordinator in the Quotations Department to support costing, quoting, pricing, and technical information for customer specifications. You will research multiple product lines and manufacturing capabilities to generate profitable quotations and drive repeat business.

The role demands strong analytical ability, cost estimation, and the ability to coordinate with factories, suppliers, and sales staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience required; decisions may vary by location
• 2+ years of experience preferred: Sales, negotiations, pricing, and relationship building
• 2 year degree preferred
• Knowledge of SAP and pricing strategies to generate quotations that yield profit
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates of materials for internal and external customers; compile bills of material and itemize tools or equipment to be purchased.
• Consult with factories and reps to obtain best-cost information; compute estimates and audit BOMs.
• Conduct extensive research prior to submitting quotations to determine customer requirements and specifications.
• Analyze competitors’ products and services to identify market opportunities.
• Prepare and submit technical quotations meeting customer timelines and specs.
• Support change order processes and job lot billing in some branches.
• Issue lists of quotes and take-offs for sales staff.
