Job summary

Four-State-Trucks is seeking a purchasing professional to negotiate with vendors, place orders, and manage inventory for resale. You will use inventory systems to track usage, confirm costs on orders, and secure alternate vendors to fill gaps as needed.

This role supports efficient stock levels and timely inbound/outbound shipments. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of purchasing experience, excellent customer service, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of purchasing experience, preferably in retail or warehousing.
• Experience in Automotive/Commercial Vehicle parts is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good grammar and spelling; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with vendors and place orders for business needs under supervision.
• Purchases products for resale and tracks usage with inventory systems.
• Confirm costs on purchase orders and ensure accuracy of charges.
• Track backorders and secure alternate vendors as needed.
• Find stock-out solutions and manage extended ETAs through sourcing channels.
• Maintain stocking levels for assigned vendors.
