Job summary

Canoga Perkins is seeking a seasoned procurement and planning professional to join our Materials & Planning team at our headquarters in California. This hybrid Buyer / Planner role will build production schedules, manage MRP, and source production materials and MRO supplies while collaborating with engineering on new designs.

Responsibilities include converting demand into master schedules, managing WOs, aligning procurement with production timelines, expediting vendor shipments, and maintaining

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Hands-on ERP / MRP experience (scheduling, work order execution, inventory control, and purchasing).
• Hands-on experience issuing and managing MRO purchase orders alongside direct production procurement.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Experience sourcing electronic components.
• Experience setting up LTAs.

Responsibilities

• Convert customer demand into achievable master production schedules (MPS).
• Create, release, sequence, and track shop floor work orders and monitor WIP.
• Align procurement schedules with production timelines to ensure component availability.
• Coordinate procurement of production commodities and MRO orders from intent to delivery.
• Analyze commodity requirements, preferred suppliers, and delivery dates.
• Ensure on-schedule delivery of commodities, shop orders, and MRO requisitions.
• Maintain timely control of purchase orders, work orders, and related documents.
• Assist accounting and receiving in resolving discrepancies with invoices and POs.
• Expedite shipments with vendors and perform follow-up on shortages.
• Participate in daily production huddles to track schedule attainment and OTIF.
