Job summary

Alamo Group Ag Americas, LLC, located in Selma, Alabama, is seeking a Buyer to join its team. The role combines purchasing and materials planning, working under moderate supervision to optimize value, delivery, and quality for production materials.

Responsibilities include entering data in the JDE ERP, negotiating terms with suppliers, coordinating launches for new products, and driving cost-saving projects while maintaining professional standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
• 5+ years in manufacturing with 3+ years in supply chain (purchasing, scheduling) a plus.
• In lieu of degree, 8+ years in manufacturing with 5+ years supply chain experience.
• Professional supply chain certification or working towards CPIM, CPSM, etc.

Responsibilities

• Enter and update supply chain parameters, purchase orders and related data in the JDE ERP system.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and freight terms with suppliers; seek approvals as needed.
• Identify and market test commodities with alternative suppliers; source new suppliers when necessary.
• Identify saving opportunities; track PPV and ensure cost controls and timely price changes.
