Job summary

Alamo Group Ag Americas, LLC is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead the procurement team at Selma, Alabama, and modernize the supply chain. The role focuses on cost reduction, supplier strategy, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.

You will drive supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and support new product launches while improving inventory and overall efficiency within the ERP environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Knowledge of Lean, Kanban, or JIT principles.
• Strong business acumen and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of buyers and planners.
• Drive supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery.
• Negotiate contracts and lead sourcing strategy.
• Support new product launches and supplier readiness.
• Improve inventory performance and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.
• Lead cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee purchasing operations within our ERP.
