Job summary

WIRTGEN AMERICA, Inc. in Antioch, TN is seeking a Purchasing Planner to coordinate procurement and distribution of materials, parts and supplies. You will plan orders, evaluate suppliers, issue purchase orders, and monitor delivery against schedule and budget.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in addition to familiarity with SAP; prior purchasing experience is helpful. Travel is up to 25% and you will work with cross-functional teams to optimize costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education or purchasing experience.
• Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Prior parts planning/purchasing experience helpful but not necessary

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities related to purchase of materials, parts, equipment, and commodities from intent to purchase through delivery.
• Plan ordering sequences and analyze item requirements, specifications, preferred supplier, and timing.
• Solicit and evaluate proposals for requested items.
• Interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet requirements.
• Advise team on appropriate suppliers to use.
• Negotiate cost balance with quality and schedule needs.
• Prepare purchase orders and purchase contracts complying with company and government regulations.
• Ensure timely delivery at negotiated price and quality standards.
• Maintain records of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and related documents.
• Coordinate methods to distribute items cost-effectively.
