Job summary

Ulm Automotive LLC is seeking a Purchasing Planner to plan, procure, and coordinate materials for production schedules and inventory targets. You will work with suppliers, production, and finance to ensure timely materials at the right cost and quantity.

Responsibilities include creating and managing purchase orders, monitoring lead times, expediting orders, and maintaining ERP/MRP data. Strong Excel skills and experience in purchasing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience in purchasing, planning, procurement, or supply chain operations.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and purchasing processes.
• Ability to interpret demand, inventory, and production data.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review demand forecasts, production schedules, and material requirements.
• Create, release, and manage purchase orders from requisition to receipt.
• Monitor supplier confirmations, lead times, and open orders.
• Expedite or reschedule orders to meet production needs.
• Maintain inventory levels balancing availability, cost, and turns.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve shortages and pricing issues.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, engineering, quality, and finance.
• Maintain planning data in ERP/MRP systems including delivery dates.
• Analyze purchasing trends and supplier performance for cost savings.
• Support supplier evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives.
