Job summary

North American Electric is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to support manufacturing operations. You will manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with suppliers to align with production plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
• ERP experience with Oracle, SAP, Sage, or Prophet 21 (P21) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate, process, and manage purchase orders in accordance with production schedules and inventory requirements.
• Monitor purchase order status and follow up with suppliers regarding confirmations, changes, and delivery schedules.
• Track incoming shipments and verify accuracy against purchase orders.
• Manage backorders and expedite critical components to minimize production delays.
• Request and compile supplier quotations for buyer or purchasing manager review; maintain purchasing records in ERP systems.
• Ensure data accuracy across ERP and inventory management systems.
• Collaborate with Production, Operations, Engineering, and Accounting to support schedules and material availability.
• Identify inventory trends and recommend improvements to purchasing practices and stock levels.
