Job summary

Nova Instruments North America Operations, located in Nashua, New Hampshire, is seeking a Supply Chain and Inventory Manager to oversee sourcing, buying and inventory for our North American manufacturing site serving Degree Controls, NDT Systems and Brookhaven Instruments.

You will drive ERP/MRP-based planning, procurement, and cost optimization, coordinating with Engineering, Quality and Production to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and lowest total cost of ownership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in procurement with a track record of achievement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, purchase, and manage inventory for electronics and mechanical components.
• Monitor MOQs and supplier policies to optimize inventory and reduce obsolescence.
• Run MRP reports, analyze data, and forecast volume purchases.
• Manage material shortages and expedite solutions.
• Develop KPIs and perform cost analyses.
• Provide spend data analysis and improve cost structure for products.
• Qualify new suppliers and maintain the approved supplier list; counterfeit-parts controls.
• Train junior buyers in negotiation strategy and handling supplier conflicts.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production on cost improvements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals) and maintain documentation.

Job Title: Supply Chain and Inventory Manager

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain and Inventory Manager will be responsible for all aspects of sourcing, buying and maintaining inventory for production at our North American manufacturing site in Nashua, New Hampshire, which is home to three businesses, Degree Controls, NDT Systems and Brookhaven Instruments. The position requires full proficiency in ERP systems, product planning, procurement, logistics and inventory management. This position will work across the organization to ensure supplies arrive on time, at the right quality, and at the lowest total cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all planning, collecting multiple quotations, purchasing and inventory management of electronics and mechanical components and assemblies
• Monitor MOQs and Procurement/Supplier related inventory policies to optimize inventory and minimize obsolescence
• Run MRP reports, analyze data and make recommendations on volume purchases based on historical numbers and forecasts
• Manage and report on all material shortages affecting production and expedite solutions as required
• Develop effective KPIs and perform cost analysis comparisons
• Provide rigorous analysis of spend data, market trends and dynamics to focus on improving cost structure for products
• Initiate resourcing activities in an effort to continuously reduce cost prices
• Identify any single source suppliers and develop alternative sources
• Report on supplier, inventory, quality and cost improvements to Finance, Operations and Engineering
• Implement Supplier performance KPIs and issue regular reports
• Lead and coordinate among Engineering, Quality and Production teams any initiatives for quality and cost improvements
• Participate in MRB activities, facilitate the prompt disposition of non-conforming materials
• Perform root cause analysis when issues arise and implement action plans to prevent further occurrences
• Work closely with Sales and Operations planning team to fully understand volumes to be manufactured
• Manage inventory for end-of-life product lines
• Qualify new suppliers and maintain the approved supplier list, including counterfeit-parts avoidance controls for electronic components
• Ensure purchased material meets applicable regulatory and customer requirements (RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals) and maintain the supporting documentation
• Train and mentor junior buyer(s) in negotiation strategy and in handling supplier conflicts

Experience and Skills:

• 7+ years in procurement with a demonstrated record of achievement and advancement. Professional certification (ASCM/APICS CPIM or CSCP, or ISM CPSM) preferred
• Experience leading or mentoring a small supply chain or purchasing team
• Experience with inventory control through daily cycle counts and annual inventory is a must; Experience with ERP system implementation a strong plus
• Strong analytical skills, expert Excel user
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Understanding of shop floor control utilizing ERP/MRP systems to ensure availability of materials for work orders or inventory transactions is required
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production teams on opportunities for quality and cost improvements
• Must show excellent attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with employees, suppliers and internal stakeholders
