Job summary

The City of Maypearl is seeking a seasoned Procurement Director to plan, direct, and oversee the centralized purchasing and contract administration functions. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including the Texas Local Government Code, while promoting transparency, competition, and fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• Knowledge of public purchasing practices and procurement statutes.

Responsibilities

• Direct all procurement activities including competitive solicitations (IFB, RFP, RFQ).
• Oversee full contract lifecycle: drafting, execution, renewals, amendments and vendor performance.
• Maintain centralized procurement and contract systems for accurate tracking and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with Texas Local Government Code, federal requirements, and city policies.
• Develop and update procurement policies to promote ethics and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with Finance on funding, coding, encumbrance tracking and budgeting.
• Drive cost reductions, process improvements, and competitive purchasing.
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve disputes or performance issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams and provide internal consulting services.
