Job summary

The City of Fort Worth seeks a seasoned Purchasing Manager to lead citywide purchasing, contract management, and procurement planning. You will analyze spending, forecast requirements, and guide staff to ensure compliant, effective procurement aligned with organizational goals.

You will communicate with senior leaders, build cross-department partnerships, and drive continuous process improvements while managing complex contracts and purchasing strategies across the city.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Five (5) years purchasing or contract administration experience.
• Two (2) years administrative and supervisory responsibility.
• Two (2) years of experience in purchasing for public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic management and direction for citywide purchasing activities.
• Lead the development and delivery of the citywide annual purchasing plan.
• Analyze spending and contracts to identify opportunities for savings and efficiency.
• Oversee procurement pipeline, bid timelines, and coordination with departments.
