Job summary

Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is seeking a Paid Leave Public Engagement Strategist to organize and support equitable public engagement initiatives for the state’s Paid Leave program in Minnesota. The incumbent reports to the Public Engagement Manager and will coordinate with multiple teams to ensure inclusive engagement and informed program design.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in community-centered outreach or equitable public engagement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse internal and external partners.
• Skills in project management, tracking, and reporting.
• Ability to establish priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies for engaging diverse constituent groups using public engagement best practices.
• Build partnerships with community organizations and other programs to raise Paid Leave awareness.
• Cultivate trusted relationships and create pathways for underserved communities to benefit from Paid Leave.
• Plan, coordinate, and track all Paid Leave engagement activities with leadership.
• Maintain a database of engagement activities and constituent contacts.
• Oversee event logistics, registration, follow-up communications, invoices, and vendor relations.
• Collaborate with Paid Leave Communications, Policy & Evaluation, and other public engagement teams to align day-to-day work with overall strategy.
