Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) CCSD seeks a Programs and Planning Specialist to manage the Strategic Partnerships Projects proposal process and support ASCR and NIH proposals. The role requires coordinating with PIs and staff to assemble complete proposals, ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements and internal processes.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, proactive, and capable of mentoring administrative staff in proposal development.

Qualifications

• B.S. in a science or business field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive).

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end proposal process for SPP, ASCR, NIH, industry, and other opportunities from funding announcement through submission.
• Coordinate with PIs and staff to assemble complete, accurate, and compliant pre-applications and full proposals.
• Review NOFOs and develop schedules, templates, checklists, and guidance for communicating new opportunities.
• Conduct quality and compliance reviews to ensure sponsor and DOE/ORNL requirements are met.
• Maintain and improve proposal-management processes and automated workflows using Microsoft 365 tools.
