Job summary

SOCOTEC US in New York City seeks a Proposal Director to lead proposal development for the Buildings & Real Estate (BRE) division. This full-time role requires four in-office days per week with one hybrid/remote day, coordinating across service lines to maximize win rates on complex bids.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years directing proposal teams, 10+ years creating proposal content, and strong English-writing skills, plus expertise with InDesign, Copilot, Deltek Vantagepoint, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Master’s/Advanced degree in architecture, engineering, communications, organizational learning, knowledge management, business, or other equivalent professional experience: experience in A/E/C industry is desirable.
• Minimum 6 years proven successful experience managing proposal teams and leading them effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with creating proposal content, editing, and managing proposal development activities.
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines, and engage in decisive and effective decision-making.
• Expertise in English writing to perform information research and synthesize multiple sources into a cohesive, easy-to-read final product.
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the successful development of compelling and successful proposals through effective collaboration across teams that include internal staff, corporate partners, and subconsultants.
• Apply experience and best practices in proposal team management to ensure the timely delivery of proposal submissions that comply with client requirements and RFQ/RFP instructions.
• Develop and deliver training materials for proposal team and other staff to continuously improve our corporate proposal operations.
• Provide insight, leadership, and work guidance to authors on all proposal content.
• Manage the development of oral presentations, discussions, and proposal revisions.
• Ensure the high-quality content and appearance of final proposal deliverables meet corporate design guidelines, branding and messaging.
• Conduct and document proposal lessons learned and implement actions to improve process efficiency.
• Develop technical proposals based on existing proposal templates, and corresponding estimates for level of effort and fees as needed to meet team deadlines. Coordinate and support the production, reproduction, binding, and packaging in finalizing the proposal submission and response processes.
