Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a Proposal Writer for its Buildings & Real Estate (BRE) team. You’ll develop and coordinate proposals and estimates under the guidance of the Proposal Manager, interfacing with clients and technical leaders to define services needed.

This full-time role requires 4 days in-office weekly with one hybrid/remote day, and involves collaborating with Legal, Finance, and CRM data entry (Deltek). You’ll help convey SOCOTEC’s expertise and competitive advantages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in proposal writing and estimating, with experience at a architecture, engineering, marketing or consulting firm desirable.
• Exceptional analytical, creative problem solving and written communication skills.
• Maintain composure and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines while managing multiple proposals.
• Strong organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiar with Microsoft Copilot and Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign).
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily team scrum to review proposal priorities and progress.
• Review assigned proposal requests, assess proposal requirements and identify appropriate team leaders for input on scope and fees.
• Develop technical proposals based on templates and estimates for level of effort and fees.
• Conduct research, gather information, and attend meetings with service line leaders to ensure proposals reflect SOCOTEC’s expertise and competitive advantages.
• Review proposals and estimates with technical team leaders; update according to input and ensure client requirements.
• Collaborate with internal Legal and Finance teams to produce complete proposal packages.
• Collaborate with fellow proposal writers to review proposal language for clarity, accuracy, grammar and spelling.
• Contact clients/prospects to obtain information needed to develop the proposal and confirm receipt.
• Collect, enter and maintain client and project data in CRM (Deltek).
• Coordinate with Proposal Team Manager to refine templates, narratives, and graphics based on client needs and regional feedback.
