Job summary

Hoefer Welker seeks a Marketing Strategist in Kansas City to lead proposal strategy, content development, and market research. You will guide pursuit strategy, mentor senior staff, and ensure proposal quality and compliance. The role requires a BA/BS in Marketing or related field and at least four years in marketing, preferably in A/E/C.

Strong writing and Adobe InDesign are valued skills. The position is full-time and on site in Kansas City, MO, with opportunities to influence firm-wide

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Journalism, or related field.
• Post-graduate education, CPSM designation and/or Project Management Certification a plus.
• Minimum of four years of experience in marketing, preferably in A/E/C.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and development of competitive proposals.
• Analyze RFP/RFQ to define approach, win themes, and content direction.
• Direct proposal kickoff meetings and guide strategy and messaging.
• Conduct market and client research to inform pursuits.
• Oversee proposal content quality for accuracy and compliance.
• Review scope, staffing, and narratives for alignment with strategy.
• Quality control reviews of proposals and related materials.
• Develop interview materials and coordinate strategic messaging.
• Mentor coordinators on proposal processes and best practices.
• Lead post-submittal debriefs to improve future pursuits.
• Track wins/losses; provide insights to market leaders.
• Preserve updated materials in firm systems.
