Job summary

Rotating Machinery Services, Inc. in Wellsville, NY seeks an experienced Project Manager/Operations Lead to drive operations, commercial growth, and client delivery for a steam-driven test facility.

You will lead business and operational aspects, align with the Senior Test Engineer, manage proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations, and expand market presence to deliver profitable results.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of project management, commercial development, or operational leadership in industrial or heavy engineering testing facilities.
• Solid understanding of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, gearboxes) and steam/drive systems.
• Proven track record in technical sales, client account management, and market expansion.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Market Expansion: identify and pursue new commercial opportunities across target industries for full-load and dynamic testing services.
• Client Engagement: act as primary commercial contact, delivering proposals, bids, and presentations.
• Proposal & Contract Management: develop proposals, scope of work, pricing models, and negotiate contracts.
• Brand Strategy: collaborate with marketing to showcase test stand capabilities and represent the facility at industry events.
• Project Delivery: oversee projects from award to invoicing, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Operational Leadership: direct daily facility operations and align schedules with client needs and resources.
• Resource Coordination: map testing schedules, utilities, and staffing with Senior Test Engineer.
• Financial Oversight: manage P&L, budgets, margins, and capex planning.
