Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Project Financial Advisor to partner with project delivery teams, guiding budgeting, revenue recognition, and financial reviews across a diverse project portfolio.

The role supports profitability monitoring, working capital management, and adherence to corporate finance controls. Strong Excel, ERP (Oracle), and PowerBI skills are preferred; 1–3 years in project finance is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).
• 1 to 3 years of project finance or commercial finance experience in engineering, construction, or professional services.
• Qualifications/accreditations in Accounting/Finance/Business relevant to the jurisdiction(s).
• Proficiency in recurring activities such as Project Target & Performance tracking and Project-Based Accounting.
• Solid grasp of project accounting, financial reporting, EAC/ETC forecasting, and margin analysis.
• Experience with commercial support (contracts, WIP/Revenue Recognition).
• Experience supporting multi-project forecasting and reporting accountability.
• Advanced Excel skills; MS Office and ERP tools (Oracle preferred).
• Experience with PowerBI or other data viz tools (advantageous).
• Independent, proactive, capable of working in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as a financial partner to Project Managers, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and financial terms.
• Advise on project setup including WBS, budgeting, rates, and pricing tool inputs.
• Support project funding, billing methods, and rate reviews to optimize margins.
• Monitor margins, working capital, and revenue recognition across projects.
• Coordinate and review DBE/WBE/other enterprise reporting requirements (US/CA).
• Analyze project performance, variance causes, and provide actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and revenue recognition standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve escalations and optimize processes.
