Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in the United States is seeking a Project Financial Advisor to partner with Project Managers, driving profitability, financial compliance, forecasting accuracy and overall financial performance across a portfolio of projects.

The role emphasizes setup, budgets, WBS, billing methods, and rates; monitoring performance, risks, and opportunities; and ensuring adherence to financial policies while supporting audit requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional designation (CPA/CMA/ACCA/CGMA) preferred.
• 5–7 years project accounting/finance experience in engineering, construction, or professional services.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis.
• Experience with medium to large, complex project portfolios.
• Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, variance analysis, and project performance reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems proficiency (Oracle preferred).
• Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers to support the financial success of projects.
• Provide guidance on project setup, including budgets, WBS, billing methods, and rates.
• Review project financial performance and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support project forecasting, revenue recognition, and profitability management.
• Analyze labor utilization, project costs, and margins to improve performance.
• Advise teams on project funding, contract requirements, and financial controls.
• Review contract structures for financial accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor billing requirements and revenue recognition methods.
