Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Controls Consultant to support our California Region within the Earth & Environment Team. You will provide proactive project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to project managers through the full lifecycle.

Responsibilities include coordinating with PMs, PFAs, and PFOs, updating horizons, validating financial data, and coordinating project closeout. The role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and ethical handling of funds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, Project Controls, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project controls, project finance, cost management, forecasting, scheduling, or project management support.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to coordinate with PMs, finance, and operations teams for budgeting, invoicing, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive project controls, coordination, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project setup, monthly reviews, budget controls, forecast updates, and performance reporting.
• Liaise between Project Managers, PFA, PFO, and leadership for timely communication and issue resolution.
• Coordinate Horizon updates, data validation, and closeout activities including lessons learned.
