Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Controls Consultant to support the California Region, focusing on proactive controls, coordination, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. You will work with Project Managers, PFAs, and PFOs to ensure financial visibility and timely issue resolution, with a strong emphasis on budget control and forecast accuracy.

The role requires collaboration across PMs, finance, and leadership, ensuring alignment on project priorities and delivering concise performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, Project Controls, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project controls, project finance, cost management, forecasting, scheduling, or project management support.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project setup activities, including budget setup, cost coding, governance requirements, and required financial workflows.
• Coordinate between PMs, Project Financial Analysts (PFA), Project Financial Operations (PFO), and leadership to support timely communication and project visibility.
• Coordinate Horizon updates, project financial data validation, budget controls, forecast support, and action item follow-up.
• Prepare budget status updates, variance explanations, forecast summaries, and escalation items for leadership review.
• Support invoicing processes and accounts receivable, and help keep Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) low.
