Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Controls Consultant to support our California Region. You will provide proactive project controls, coordination, and reporting from setup through closeout, interfacing with PMs, PFA, and PFO.

This role emphasizes budget controls, forecasting, and performance reporting to drive informed decisions. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in project controls or related fields, strong Excel skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, Project Controls, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project controls, project finance, cost management, forecasting, scheduling, or PM support.
• Knowledge of cost control, budget tracking, forecasting, scheduling, change management, risk management, and reporting.
• Experience coordinating with PMs, finance, accounting, or PFO teams for setup, reviews, invoicing, forecasting, AR, and reporting.
• Ability to prepare clear performance summaries, variance explanations, budget updates, and escalation materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive project controls, coordination, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project setup, monthly reviews, budget controls, forecasting, and performance reporting.
• Liaise between PMs, PFA, PFO, and leadership for timely communication and issue resolution.
• Coordinate Horizon updates, budget maintenance, forecast updates, and data validation.
• Assist with project closeout, archives, lessons learned, and client feedback.
