Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is seeking a Project Controls Analyst II to support the Capital Investment Plan by budgeting, scheduling, and reporting to keep projects on budget and on time. You will develop budgets, cash flows, and EAC projections, and maintain master and summary schedules while coordinating with MBTA departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
  • Two years of project administration or coordination duties supporting a large department.
  • Highly organized with strong time/resource management and multitasking.
  • Understanding of budgets, change management, earned value, cost, and schedule management.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 or other scheduling software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint including Pivot Tables and large data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Budget and Cost Estimating: assist budgets, cash flow projections, and EAC projections.
  • Budget monitoring with trending and change management.
  • QA/QC review of all project budget/cost data.
  • Scheduling: prepare Master and Summary schedules and monitor progress against them.
  • Analyze schedules, forecast impacts of changes, and support mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with MBTA Departments to ensure schedule compatibility.
  • Change Orders / Risk / Contingency: analyze risk trends and monitor progress for EVM.
  • Assist with risk reallocation and contingency management.
  • Prepare quarterly and monthly program/project reporting from finance, schedule, and PM systems.
  • Develop public-facing materials: charts, tables, and presentations.
  • Data cleaning and qualitative/quantitative analysis; respond to inquiries courteously.
  • Assist with task orders and related duties as assigned.

Education

Associate's degree with 3 years related experience substitutes
